Under the EU Roam Like at Home regulation, providers may apply a fair-use limit to roaming data. The exact cap is calculated from your plan price and the wholesale roaming rate set by the European Commission. A 70 GB Austrian plan therefore caps EU roaming at the calculated fair-use number rather than 70 GB. Beyond the cap, you usually pay a small per-GB surcharge (currently capped by the EU at around EUR 1.55/GB in 2026), so you do not lose access. Calls and SMS within the EU are charged at your domestic rate while you are abroad.
